Skeleton found at under-construction apartment complex in Kothanur

A human skeleton was found on the fourth floor of an under-construction residential apartment in the Kothanur Police Station limits on Friday.

The incident came to light when the labourers went to the fourth floor of the apartment for cleaning work and noticed the skeleton lying around. They informed the security guard, who in turn alerted the police.

Police suspect that the death might have occurred around a year ago. The apartment was abandoned due to a civil dispute pending in the court for many years, leading to the death not being discovered earlier. Work restarted a month ago. On Friday, labourers went to the fourth floor to clean up.

Prima facie investigations have revealed that the deceased is a male aged around 40 years, the police said. They are now waiting for the autopsy and forensic reports for further investigations.
