The Smart India Hackathon (SIH) Grand Finale 2025 was held at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology in Coimbatore city on Tuesday. A total of 20 teams with 117 participants competed to solve four problem statements provided by the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
Team KIS from Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering, Navi Mumbai, solved the first problem on developing an application to assess rooftop rainwater harvesting and artificial recharge potential.”
Mercury from Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Delhi, solved the second problem, creating an AI-driven ChatBOT as a virtual assistant for the INGRES system.
GritForce from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, won the third challenge to design an application for heavy metal pollution indices.
NovaSix_25 from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Chennai, solved the fourth problem, developing a system for real-time evaluation of groundwater resources using digital water level recorder (DWLR) data.
The winners were felicitated by S. Malarvizhi, chairperson of Sri Krishna Institutions, along with Garima Rohela, Director and CVO, AICTE-MIC, New Delhi; Yogesh Wadhawan, Nodal Centre Head, AICTE-MIC; and Parag Kulkarni, Vice President of Engineering, Randstad Enterprise, Pune.
