
Temple officials close Srisailam temple due to Lunar eclipse on Tuesday.

Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple at Srisailam remained closed for most part of Tuesday due to the lunar eclipse.
Temple Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao said the temple was closed from 6 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.. The temple priests performed regular morning rituals before the closure. The temple doors were opened at 3 a.m. followed by ‘Mangala Vaidyam’, ‘Suprabhata Seva’, and morning pujas.
‘Alankara Darshan’ of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Ammavaru was allowed between 4.30 a.m. and 5.30 a.m. and the temple was closed at 6 a.m.. All ‘Arjitha Sevas’, ‘paroksha Sevas’, and ‘Kalyanotsavam’ were cancelled and annaprasadam distribution was also suspended.
After the completion of eclipse, the temple reopened at 7.30 p.m. after the purification rituals, including ‘Samprokshana’, and ‘Mahamangala Harati’ was performed. Devotees were provided darshan from 9 p.m. to 10.30 p.m..
