Stalin condoles death of epigraphist and archaeologist Natana Kasinathan


Archaeologist and epigraphist Natana Kasinathan passed away on Monday. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin condoled his death.

Mr. Stalin recalled that the archaeologist had discovered several inscriptions and hero stones, among others, and could decipher vattezhuthu with ease.

Kasinathan had authored several books in Tamil, including KallezhuthukkalaiSozhar Seppedugal and Thamizhar Kasu Iyal, and works in English, including Under Sea Exploration off the Shore of Poompuhar and The Metropolis of the Medieval Cholas, the Chief Minister recalled.

Mr. Stalin also pointed out that he was the recipient of several awards, including Tamil Nadu government’s U.Ve.Sa. Award.

He added that Kasinathan’s death was a huge loss to archaeology.
