An 18-year-old student was arrested from a Rohini school after the management caught him possessing a country-made pistol and 10 live cartridges, the police said on Tuesday.
A first information report was registered under Section 25 of the Arms Act. The teenager was produced before the juvenile court in Rohini, which granted two-day police remand.
“Upon questioning, the student revealed that he was carrying a weapon due to personal enmity with another student,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rajeev Ranjan.
During inspection, the estate officer observed the student attempting to conceal an object in the second-floor washroom on Monday, the police said.
Apprehensive of being watched, the student hurriedly moved out of the washroom only to be intercepted by the officer, the police added.
The teenager was produced before the school principal, who handed him over to the police.
