The Tamil Nadu Special Police 13th Battalion, which is the State Disaster Rescue Force (SDRF), has secured the first position in the national-level CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) Disaster Rescue Competition 2025 held in Ghaziabad recently. A 24-member team of the Tamil Nadu Disaster Response Force conducted the training for the competition under Additional Director-General of Police R. Dhinakaran.
The main objective of the competition is to assess the preparedness, coordination and capabilities of the SDRFs of various States to deal with emergencies and strengthen them in terms of how to respond to CBRN threats, how to protect victims, rescue and decontaminate affected areas.
The winners received the prize from R. Nityanand Rai, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, in the presence of Piyush Anand, Director-General, National Disaster Response Force at a ceremony held in New Delhi on Thursday.
