Tamil Nadu Electrical Inspectorate issues guidelines for safety

In view of the northeast monsoon, the State Electrical Inspectorate issued safety guidelines for electricity consumers in the city.

The Electrical Inspectorate advised residents to use only ISI marked electrical appliances and execute electrical works through qualified and licensed electrical contractors.The contractor should provide earth electrodes to electrical appliances to avoid short circuit.

Consumers must stay away from waterlogged areas, and not touch electrical switches or boards with wet hands.They should not stand near open doors during thunder or lightning strikes, and avoid installing switches inside bathrooms and other wet places.
