The seventh session of the Third Telangana Legislative Assembly began on Monday (December 29, 2025) with the presence of Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), drawing particular attention on the opening day of the winter session.

Mr. Chandrashekar Rao attended the House proceedings and took his seat early, ahead of other members. His presence prompted interactions across party lines, with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy personally greeting him upon entering the Assembly Hall. Several Ministers, including N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, D. Sridhar Babu and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, along with Congress MLAs, also met the former Chief Minister. CPI MLA Kunamaneni Sambasiva Rao and newly elected MLA Naveen Yadav, who sought his blessings, were among those who called on him.

Earlier, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar expressed condolences over the death of former MLAs Ramreddy Damodar Reddy and Konda Laxma Reddy, after which the House took up Zero Hour to allow members to raise constituency-specific issues.

The government announced that it would introduce ordinances related to amendments to the Telangana GST Act, employee rationalisation and wage structure, besides providing legal backing to amendments to the Telangana Panchayati Raj Act and related gazette notifications on rural development. A Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting will be held after adjournment to finalise the working days and agenda of the session. Mr. Chandrashekar Rao later left the Assembly for his Nandinagar residence.
