Telangana CID busts online betting network, eight arrested in raids across three States

In a first of a kind nationwide crackdown on online betting, the Telangana Criminal Investigation Department (CID) carried out simultaneous raids across six locations in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Punjab, arresting eight accused operators linked to illegal betting platforms.

The raids were conducted on Monday and Tuesday by six teams, which targeted operators running betting activities through apps identified as Taj0077, Fairply.live, Andhra365, Vlbook, Telugu365 and Yes365.

The accused were allegedly luring people into high-risk wagers, leading to financial losses for several members of the public.

During the raids, investigators seized multiple hardware devices carrying significant volumes of data connected to the betting networks. The evidence is now being examined to trace the flow of money and digital footprints.

A senior officer said the investigation is focused on uncovering the larger syndicate behind the apps. Preliminary findings suggest the main organisers may be operating from abroad, with local handlers managing operations in India.

Further investigation is underway.
