Telangana GP Polls-2025 first phase: Voting for 378 GPs begins in erstwhile Karimnagar

Braving the cold weather conditions, voters turned up in good numbers at several polling booths in the erstwhile Karimnagar district as the voting for the first phase of Telangana Gram Panchayat elections-2025 began in as many as 378 gram panchayats at 7 a.m. on Thursday (December 11, 2025).

Electoral fate of as many as 1,520 candidates in the fray from 378 gram panchayats in Karimnagar, Jagtial, Peddapalli and Rajanna Sircilla districts will be known late this evening as the counting of votes is scheduled to commence at 2 p.m.

Undeterred by the morning winter chill, voters thronged the polling booths in Maqdumpur, Chamanpalli, Elgandal and a host of other gram panchayats in Karimnagar rural mandal to exercise their franchise.

According to reports, voting began on a dull note in various gram panchayats, mainly those located on the fringes of forests in Peddapalli and Rajanna Sircilla districts.
