Telangana to establish incubation centres in all government universities

IT and Industries Minister D.Sridhar Babu on Wednesday (December 10, 2025) said the Telangana government will establish incubation centres in all government Universities to promote innovation, foster research-led entrepreneurship and to strengthen the startup ecosystem across Telangana.

Speaking at the inauguration of Google for Startups Hub at T-Hub in Hyderabad by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the Minister said the proposed incubation centres would be developed on par with the Telangana AI Innovation Hub and the Life Sciences ONE Hub aligning with the government’s vision to position Telangana as a global innovation hub.

“We do not view startups merely as small enterprises… see them as economic engines capable of solving societal challenges and generating new employment opportunities,” the Minister’s office said in a release on his speech.

Mr. Sridhar Babu said Telangana startups raised $571 million in 2024, registering a 160% increase over the previous year. The HealthTech sector alone witnessed a remarkable 2,139% increase in funding during the period. Hyderabad ranks sixth in India in women-led startups and 531 women-led enterprises raised $417 million investment. “These are not just statistics. They demonstrate the impact of the government’s progressive policies and sustained support for innovation,” he said.

The State government believes technology is not just a tool but an instrument of equality, inclusive growth and keen on ensuring its benefits reach every citizen. The government will soon operationalise the Rs. 1,000-crore Fund of Funds for startups, he said, reiterating the government’s commitment to support young innovators and new ideas.
