The Hindu Lit for Life Dialogue 2025 returns to Hyderabad on Dec. 12 for an evening of conversation and ideas

The Hindu will bring its literary platform, The Hindu Lit for Life Dialogue 2025, back to Hyderabad on December 12 for an evening of conversations that draw together leading voices from history, journalism, literature and contemporary culture. The event is designed to offer a space for reflection and debate through a line-up of discussions that examine how ideas shape the world around us.

The programme features three sessions that explore contested histories, marginalised identities and the shifting dynamics of relationships in modern India.

The opening session, titled History as Battlefield: The Past in India’s Present, will run from 4.45 p.m. to 5.45 p.m. Historian Manu Pillai will discuss the ways in which interpretations of the past continue to influence public discourse in modern India, in conversation with Nandini Nair.

This will be followed by The Many Lives of Syeda X: The Story of an Unknown Indian, scheduled from 5.50 p.m. to 6.40 p.m. Journalist Neha Dixit, in conversation with Kavitha Buggana, will dive deep into an exploration of identity, marginalised voices and the unseen lives that define contemporary India.

The final session of the evening, Sailing with Many Loves: Journeys with Polyamory in India, will take place from 6.45 p.m. to 7.45 p.m. Arundhati Ghosh will speak with Nishat Fatima about the changing nature of love, relationships and the evolving social fabric of urban India.

The event is being organised in association with Christ (deemed to be university) and NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology. Akshayakalpa Organic and Aparna Constructions are associate partners, while Crosswords is the bookstore partner.
