Three men were sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment by a Sangareddy court on Tuesday in connection with the seizure of 22 kilogrammes of ganja, brought from Odisha for sale.
The court also slapped a fine of ₹1 lakh on each of the convicts.
The accused were identified as Parimil Bhadra of Malkangiri district in Odisha, Karuva Sarkar and Madapu Mandal. The case dates back to 2018 when excise enforcement personnel intercepted the contraband and registered a case at the Sangareddy excise station.
The then Circle Inspector Madhubabu, who investigated the case, later filed the chargesheet.

Acting on a tip-off, the State Task Force C team conducted inspections and arrested Akaram Ranjith with 710 gram of the contraband. He was handed over to the Balanagar excise station for further action.
