Three persons involved in the theft of cattle were arrested by the district police here on Sunday night (January 25, 2026).
Police said Priya, a resident near the Singampettai Post Office in the limits of the Ammapettai police station, was rearing cattle. On January 24 (Saturday), she had tied two cattle in front of her house, which were found missing the next morning. Based on her complaint, the police registered a case.
During the investigation, police received a tip-off that the stolen cattle were being transported in a car. Acting on the information, the police conducted a vehicle check near the Chinnapallam check post, intercepted the car, and secured the accused along with the stolen cattle.
The accused were identified as B. Pandi (29) of Dindigul, S. Riyas (25) of Namakkal, and V. Sathyamoorthy (30) of Dharmapuri. The cattle were recovered and seized. After further inquiry, the trio were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
