The Tiruchi Corporation has procured a super sucker-cum-jetting with recycling facility vehicle.
A sum of ₹3.78 crore was spent for procuring the vehicle, which is designed for cleaning and maintenance of sewer pipelines, under the 15th Finance Commission fund. The vehicle has a capacity of 13,000 litres. The vehicle is a combination of suction machine and the jetting machine with sewer water and filtration recycling facility. It is mounted on the chassis of the truck.
According to sources, the water suction from the sewer lines is filtered and cleaned in multiple stages and these used for jetting purposes. The machine does not require fresh water for carrying out the jetting operation and jetting operation can be carried out without interruption for a long duration. The equipment is provided with a higher capacity vacuum pump and jetting pump is mounted on the chassis. It will be highly useful for cleaning blocks in the sewer lines within no time. It will facilitate the civic body to avoid engaging sanitation workers in cleaning blocks in sewer lines.
Minister for Municipal Administration K.N. Nehru on Saturday flagged off the vehicle on the premises of the Corporation office here. Director of Municipal Administration Madhusudhan Reddy, Collector V. Saravanan, Mayor M. Anbazhagan and Corporation Commissioner L. Madhubalan participated.
