The police announced another set of traffic diversions due to the AFT Railway Crossing being completely closed from Monday as part of phase-2 of the construction work of the Railway Overbridge (ROB) on the Cuddalore Road near New Court Complex.
Accordingly, all vehicles such as buses, medium vehicles, light vehicles and two-wheelers are not allowed to cross the Mudaliarpet AFT Railway Crossing from CV Road Junction on Cuddalore Road. All heavy vehicles (including buses) and medium vehicles going from Puducherry Bus Stand towards Cuddalore should make a U-Turn at CV Road Junction and proceed via Maraimalai Adigal Road to Nellithope Junction – POINT CARE Junction, turn left at Indira Gandhi Junction and proceed towards Marapalam Junction via 100 feet road.
All heavy and medium vehicles, including buses coming from Cuddalore towards Puducherry via Cuddalore Road, should take a left turn at Marappalam junction towards 100 Feet Road to reach Indira Gandhi Square. No heavy/medium vehicle including buses are allowed to cross Marapalam junction towards Mudaliarpet. Emergency vehicles like ambulances, fire tenders, school buses, etc., shall take a right turn at Vinayaga Murugan Tea shop junction in Ambedkar Salai towards Sonampalayam junction.
Light motor vehicles and two-wheelers coming from the Marapalam junction towards the Venkata Subbareddyar statue should turn left on AFT mill Road to reach Point Care Street.
The Government officers, employees, and the general public can enter the integrated Court Complex and Forest department as usual from CV Road junction. When they are coming out it is requested to take an immediate left turn at the main gate onto the new cement road to reach Venkata Subbareddiyar Statue junction, the police department said.
