The drone show, which caught the imagination of Dasara tourists in Mysuru last year, is all set to excite the visitors this year with the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) hosting trial demonstrations of the event on September 28 and 29 before the main show scheduled for October 1 and 2.

The CESC proposes to double the number of drones used in the show this year. During the drone show conducted last year, 1,500 drones were used to create more than 15 intricate light formulations of different designs in the dark skies above the Torchlight Parade Grounds in Mysuru.

“In view of the success achieved in the first attempt of the drone show last year, the CESC is prepared to make this year’s show even more attractive by using 3,000 drones for the demonstration,” said a statement issued by CESC.

Promising to add more novelty and excitement to this year’s drone show, it said the drone show, which has become a major attraction in the Dasara festivities, will start at the Torchlight Parade Grounds at Bannimantap in Mysuru on September 28 at 7 p.m. after various cultural programmes are staged.

CESC Managing Director Munigopal Raju, in a statement, said the drone show would offer more thrilling experience this year. “The shows will be held for four days, and will be more attractive. The show with 3,000 drones will give the audience a thrilling experience.”
