The Chikkaballapura Police have arrested two persons for allegedly gang-raping a girl on Saturday.
The victim had come to Chikkaballapura town in search of a job and was returning home when the accused, identified as Sikandar Baba, allegedly offered to drop her home. The accused later took the victim to an isolated place near Manchenahalli and allegedly raped her. The accused later called his friend, Janardhanachari, who arrived at the spot and allegedly raped her too.
The duo later threatened the victim, stole her earrings, and dropped her near a petrol pump station before escaping.
Passers-by noticed the woman was in distress and took her to the police station.
Based on the complaint, the police verified the CCTV footage and arrested the accused on Sunday. The duo have been charged with rape, robbery, assault and criminal intimidation for further investigation.
