The Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW) arrested two persons for possession of ganja in Perambur on Saturday.
City police said the PEW team of Anna Nagar got tip off that two persons based in Coimbatore were possessing and selling high quality ganja in Perambur. Based on the information, the police team rounded up two persons who were moving in a suspicious manner near Murasoli Maran park in Perambur.
During interrogation the two — identified as B. Chandra Kumar and G. Shyam Chandru — who were from Coimbatore were possessing more than 12 kg of ganja. During enquiry, they confessed that they had purchased ganja from Odisha.
The police team produced the two before a judicial magistrate and sent them to prison.
