Two persons were on Thursday arrested for showing an airgun and threatening a hotel owner.
Raja (35), a resident of Amarathanur near Mecheri, runs a hotel at Kalipatti on Mettur-Salem Road. On Wednesday night, four persons who came in a car ate food. At that time, one of them asked Mr. Raja to reduce the sound of songs played in the hotel and it created a verbal duel between them. At that time, another person showed an airgun and threatened Mr. Raja. The local residents pacified them and they left the spot.
Later, Mr. Raja lodged a complaint with the Mecheri police, which registered a case and arrested Ranjith (24) and Arivazhagan (26), residents of Ottupallam near Nangavalli, and remanded them in prison. The police are on the lookout for the remaining two persons.
