Two complainants receive R&R package with intervention of Upa-Lokayukta

Two displaced families of Polavaram Project received the compensation due to them as per the Relief and Rehabilitation Package following intervention by the institution of Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayukta here.

The complaint was filed by Nallala Venkata Ramanamma and Nallala Seshagiri regarding their exclusion from the R&R Package benefits under the Polavaram Project. The grievance of the complainants pertained to their non-inclusion in the list of beneficiaries despite their residence being in the affected area.

Following the orders of Upa-Lokayukta P. Rajani, the project Administrator and Ex-officio Joint Collector, Polavaram Irrigation Project Dowleswaram, submitted an action taken report confirming that the complainants were included in the supplementary draft R&R scheme and that the R&R entitlement of ₹6.36 lakh and ₹25,000 were paid to each of the complainants along with allotment of house site plots.

Importantly, the government had sanctioned ₹9.50 crore for the benefit of all project displaced families in Kummari Lova Village of Tuni Mandal for providing due benefits to numerous other affected families, in addition to the complainants. With the grievances resolved, the complaints were officially closed, the office of Lokayukta said in a statement on Tuesday.
