Peddler Jeevan Reddy and two regular buyers, identified as Rushik and Uday, who were arrested by the excise officials with 50 grams of OG Kush, in Hyderabad.
In two separate operations, the State Task Force (STF) of the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department dismantled drug supply networks operating in residential areas of the city, leading to multiple arrests and the recovery of ganja, including a premium variant known as OG Kush.
In the first case, STF- D team arrested a 21-year-old gas delivery worker, Gadhe Ajay, who was allegedly supplying ganja to customers while delivering gas cylinders. Investigations revealed that Ajay took to selling narcotics as his regular income was insufficient.
Following a tip-off, officials inspected Kukatpally Devi Istana Homes and seized 580 grams of ganja from him. Ajay and the seized material were later handed over to the Kukatpally excise station for further investigation.
In a separate crackdown, STF-B team uncovered an inter-State supply chain in which OG Kush, procured from Goa, was being sold in Hyderabad. The main accused, Jeevan Reddy, was caught with 50 grams of OG Kush. Two regular buyers, identified as Rushik and Uday, were also arrested by the excise officials.
According to investigators, the ganja was sourced from a supplier named Yash in Goa for ₹1,000 per gram, and sold in Hyderabad for up to ₹2,500 per gram. A case has been registered against the alleged suppliers, including Yash, Uttam Singh and Maheshwar, who are currently absconding.
The arrested suspects from both operations have been handed over to the respective excise stations for further legal action.
