Two persons were killed in a road accident near Manappad on Friday.
According to police, P. Barathi, 17, R. Sadha Jeffrin, 14, and M. Gurumurthy, 21, of Aavudaiyalpuram in Tirunelveli district had arrived in a two wheeler for Dasara festival in Kulasekarapattinam. While returning from Kulasekarapattinam as they were moving towards Manappad road, the two wheeler collided with a government bus coming from the opposite direction. In the impact, Jeffrin and Gurumurthy died on the spot while Barathi sustained severe injuries and was admitted to the Government Hospital in Tiruchendur.
The bodies of Gurumurthy and Jeffrin were sent for post mortem examination at a government hospital in Tiruchendur. A case has been registered at Kulasekarapattinam police station and further investigations are on.
