The Tambaram police arrested two youths, who had stolen a two-wheeler, and tried to sell the vehicle through an app.
The police said Vignesh was working in a medical shop on Shanmugam Road in Tambaram. On September 12, he parked his two-wheeler in front of the shop and went out. When he returned, he found his two-wheeler missing.
Later that day, he was shocked to find his motorcycle, with the same registration number, put up for sale in a vehicle selling app. He filed a case in the cybercrime wing of Tambaram police station. .
A police team from the Tambaram station contacted the number listed in the app in the guise of a buyer the next day. The team, along with Vignesh, went to the place in Tambaram and detained the two persons.
Interrogation revealed that the two youths — Aditya, 23, and Sagar, 21 — were from Maharashtra and were working in the city for the past two years.
