Birthed in England almost two decades ago, the Manchester-based Warehouse Project is debuting in India this weekend. Known for their genre-defying lineup of international artistes and DJs, the clubbing institution comes to India this weekend, with a show in Bengaluru on October 24, two in Mumbai on October 25 and October 26, and one Hyderabad on October 26.
According Munbir Chawla, organiser of the Warehouse Project in India, the festival is globally recognised for EDM, underground and electronic music. “Ever since its inception in Manchester, the Project takes over a space through the course of a season that lasts a few months, presenting music across a diverse range of genres. Over the last few years, there has been a major influx of international names in India, and we believe the Warehouse Project (WHP) model and everything it stands for, could be a great fit here.”
The global programming team worked on bringing, “a mix of artistes that we feel are super-interesting, super-exciting, and at the forefront of electronic music. A lot of these artistes have not played India before.”

Needless to say, it is not possible to plan an event on this scale and skip cities such as Mumbai, “and it made sense to go to a few other cities as well, bringing them a taste the Warehouse Project. While our flagship event will be in Mumbai over two days, it will be a single-day event in both Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Both have very strong electronic music markets and Hyderabad is growing quite fast. We hope to take WHP to smaller cities over the next few years,” says Munbir.
Joy Orbison (no relation to Roy Orbison) is a name that would be on the “tip of every electronic music clubber’s tongue”, having made some of the bigger tracks of the last decade. “It made sense for us to get this iconic name to perform here as he represents what the Warehouse Project stands for in terms of its curation,” says Munbir, adding other artistes such as Verraco from South America and DJ Jyoty with her uniquely diverse take on club culture, are part of the lineup which took the better part of a year to curate.
WHP India will witness three exciting days with some of the best names in the domestic and international circuit, he says, adding that the organisers worked at collating a cohesive lineup that brought together artistes who worked well with each other. The result has been an exciting, diverse and balanced selection, says Munbir.
Tickets for Warehouse Project India start at ₹1699 and are available on Skillbox. Details of performing artistes and other information available on thewarehouseproject.com
