‘Use of artificial intelligence benefits Chartered Accountants’

Use of artificial intelligence is only increasing opportunities for chartered accountants, said G. Ramaswamy, former president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

AI is used to verify standards of auditing, and CAs can correct financial statements and analyse them using AI. It enables easy verification of documents and gives more refined information, he said.

The ICAI is preparing a vision document to align the CA profession with the country’s ‘Vision 2047’, he added.

The opportunities for CAs is high in Coimbatore as it has a large number of MSMEs. The Income Tax Act 2025, GST 2.0, Insolvency rules, etc are giving more scope for the CA profession, he added.

Mr. Ramaswamy said that India today has 4.25 lakh Chartered Accountants and already more than 10 lakh students are pursuing CA.

A two-day national conference for CA students, organised by the ICAI, took off on Friday in Coimbatore. Almost 1,300 students are taking part in the conference that has technical, motivational, and special sessions.

Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee of Siruthuli, who inaugurated the conference, said businesses revolve around finance, and in a financial setup, a CA’s role is crucial.
