Wild Tamil Nadu, a documentary celebrating the State’s extraordinary natural wealth, premiered on Thursday at PVR Sathyam Cinemas in Royapettah.
Produced by Sundram Fasteners Ltd. and made by Nature InFocus with support from the Tamil Nadu Forest Department, the screening drew scores of conservationists, filmmakers, forest officials, and nature enthusiasts.
The documentary was premiered in the presence of Arathi Krishna, Managing Director, Sundaram Fasteners; Kalyan Varma, director of the film; Ricky Kej, music composer; actor Aravind Swamy; Akhilesh Tambe, co-director and editor; Rohit Varma, co-producer; Srinivas Reddy, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Head of Forest Force); and Rakesh Kumar Dogra, Chief Wildlife Warden.
Inspired by Sangam literature, Wild Tamil Nadu journeys through the five classical landscapes — Kurinji (mountains), Mullai (forests), Marutham (croplands), Neithal (coasts), and Palai (arid zones).
The film captures remarkable wildlife including tigers, leopards, lion-tailed macaques, bonnet macaques, great hornbills, flamingos, and the elusive Madras hedgehog.
