Work to build multi-purpose centre begins in ward 78


Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR and CE) and Chairman of the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) P.K. Sekarbabu on Monday laid the foundation stone for a multi-purpose centre on Narasinga Perumal Koil Street in ward 78 of Thiru.Vi.Ka. Nagar zone. The project will cost an estimated ₹49.7 lakh. According to a press release, the building, which will span a total of 750 square feet, is being funded under the Ward Member’s Ward Development Fund. Later, the HR and CE Minister, along with Chennai Mayor R. Priya, inspected the renovation of Victoria Hall. “Work on the Greater Chennai Corporation’s side is done; only some interior and artefact placement work needs to be completed,” an official said.
