The Shivamogga district administration will hold a workshop on the implementation of the State government’s five guarantee schemes at Kuvempu Ranga Mandira on January 21.
C.S. Chandra Bhupal, chairperson of the Shivamogga District Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority, stated at a press conference on January 19 that the workshop has been organised by the departments implementing the schemes. The programme will feature interactions with the beneficiaries of the schemes and an exhibition of success stories. A procession will also be carried out in the city.
The programme will be attended by beneficiaries of guarantee schemes. They will speak on how the schemes helped them, he added.
Mr. Bhupal stated that the guarantee schemes have been implemented successfully in the district and achieved 98.8% progress. The eligible families were getting benefits worth ₹10,000 each every month. The free electricity up to 200 units a month (Gruha jyothi), financial aid of ₹2,000 per month to women (Gruha lakshmi), 10 kg of rice for families (Anna bhagya), free travel for women in KSRTC buses (Shakti) and unemployment allowance for the youth (Yuvanidhi) have brought significant improvements in the lives of thousands of families, he said.
He added that the government spent ₹3,023.95 crore for the implementation of guarantee schemes in the district since the Congress party came to power in 2023.
