Young and the Restless may get a big twist for Claire Grace Newman (Hayley Erin) and Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) while they are in LA. Based on some hints dropped by other characters, I’m just wondering if they’re going to do something rash that shocks everybody, viewers and all the other characters.
We’re going to talk about whether Holden and Claire might shock everybody and elope while they are out of town.

So, right now Claire is in Los Angeles with Holden and she is having a blast. He is showing her all the best spots in LA. She’s meeting his friends, drinking vespers, going clubbing, and getting to know him better. Not everything — his secrets are coming out slowly.
And then of course, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) up and decided to crash Claire’s trip uninvited. That seems to be pushing her even closer to Holden. Claire had the patience of a saint the way she dealt with Kyle this week, but he’s going to keep pressing her until she gives him one final, really hard rejection and sends him back to Genoa City while she keeps doing what she wants in Los Angeles.

I honestly don’t think it would take much for Claire to wind up in bed with Holden. But I am wondering if she might take things a step further because of something that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle)said recently. It got me thinking. She said she hopes Claire doesn’t do something impetuous in LA. That’s definitely a valid concern because Holden and Claire are hitting the town, boozing it up, and she even told him how fun it is to drink because you forget your problems — not exactly the healthiest mindset.
We all know Claire doesn’t have much experience with partying or drinking. So realistically, she might get in over her head hanging out with Holden in wild, wicked Los Angeles. And from there, I could definitely see her downing one too many vespers and doing something she’ll regret — something unplanned and wild, the kind of thing she’s never done before.

November Sweeps are coming fast, and I can’t shake the feeling a twist is brewing. It’s a short flight from LA to Vegas — perfect for a spur-of-the-moment elopement. Based on Victoria worrying about Claire doing something impetuous while away, it’s totally possible she and Holden run off to Sin City. Maybe they get drunk and hitched in LA or take a quick detour to Vegas for an Elvis wedding.
We all know Claire didn’t want to marry Kyle, and she wanted to live it up before settling down. But if she gets tipsy, she might think it’s funny to marry Holden even though she turned Kyle down. Claire was raised with a vengeful streak, and that side might surface if she drinks too much. She’s been rocking a bolder look lately in LA — maybe Holden’s influence is freeing… or maybe it’s dangerous. Time will tell.

Basically, Kyle wanted Claire to settle down and play mom to Harrison Locke (Redding Munsell), forming an instant family. But she was raised in a nightmare by the manipulative Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk), never allowed to live freely. It’s too soon for Claire to be anyone’s wife or mother. Her emotional development doesn’t match her age — she was conditioned as a weapon, not a woman.
This is the age to make mistakes, to learn who you are. Maybe she makes a colossal mistake and elopes with Holden — or maybe it’s not a mistake at all. Holden’s clearly smitten, and if he got the chance to marry a Newman heiress, that’d be a huge move. Whether it’s love or impulse, it’s the kind of story only The Young and the Restless can pull off.
Young and the Restless: Newman Family Fallout from Surprise Wedding
The Newmans are the ultimate family to marry into — except for her grandfather Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), who’s notoriously controlling. He wouldn’t approve of Claire eloping, though he might prefer Holden over Kyle. To his credit, Holden doesn’t seem controlling or malicious — he appears to genuinely care about Claire.
If Claire does marry Holden, I hope it’s a mutual, impulsive decision — romantic but foolish. It would be a bad look if Holden were sober and took advantage of a drunk Claire, though. If she comes home married, expect the family to demand an annulment. Victor might even pull out his checkbook to make Holden walk away from the marriage.
Young and the Restless: Victor’s Take – Can Holden Earn Respect?
Then again, Victor might surprise everyone and let it play out. He could even enjoy rubbing it in Kyle’s face that Claire married someone else. Victor thinks Kyle’s a spoiled nepo baby — totally different from Holden, who’s self-made. If Holden agrees to a postnup protecting the family fortune, he might just win Victor’s respect after all.

Victoria warning Claire not to do something impetuous in LA feels like a big red flag — something wild is coming. Maybe she elopes, maybe she gets a scandalous tattoo, but one thing’s certain: she’s finally living her life. After everything she’s endured — stolen as a baby and raised by Jordan. Claire deserves to make a few reckless choices. With November Sweeps right around the corner, we’ll see just how far she goes.
