A 19-year-old college student was injured after the car he was driving plunged nearly 30 feet from the Maduravoyal cloverleaf flyover in the early hours of Friday
The incident occurred around 12.40 a.m. near the Maduravoyal service road towards the Porur toll gate. The victim was identified as S. Salman, 19, a resident of Andavar Nagar Second Street in Kodambakkam. He is a first-year BCA student.
Police said that Salman was driving his car at high speeds when he lost control of the vehicle on the flyover, causing it to fall from a height of about 30 feet onto the road below. Despite the severity of the fall, the youth did not suffer any bleeding injuries, but complained of pain at the back of his head.
A patrol vehicle of police in the area spotted the crashed car and rescued the injured youth with the members of the public. He was rushed to KMC Hospital by a 108 ambulance for treatment.
Following an alert about the accident, officials from the patrol team of Maduravoyal Traffic Investigation Wing reached the spot and conducted an investigation.
