Zach Bryan Shares Message to His Late Mom About His Wife Samantha


Zach Bryan is thanking his lucky stars that he crossed paths with his wife, Samantha Leonard Bryan.

The country singer, 29, shared a sentimental message that he wrote out to his late mother, Annette DeAnn Bryan (née Mullen), detailing the latest events in his life and how grateful he is to have Samantha by his side after tying the knot with his bride on New Year’s Eve in Spain.

“I reckon you’d of loved this and her. We all took an aeroplane to Spain last week and you’d of eaten it up. You’d of ordered everything twice and made sure we got your dress perfect,” the “Sun to Me” crooner began his caption via Instagram on Wednesday, January 21, alongside a series of fun-filled snapshots from the couple’s nuptials. “Everyone I love, you woulda too.”

“Samantha’s family is kind and they don’t try and fix me,” Zach continued. “Dad was doing the splits while smoking a cigar on the dance floor. Rocky Lane was our ring bearer and I know you’d like that since you named me after [bull rider] Lane Frost so many years ago. Keenan and Chris sang love songs and religious hymns while we all listened in a 300 year old Basilica.”

Zach noted that he wished his mother could have witnessed his big day, revealing emotions were running high as the couple exchanged their vows in the stunning San Sebastián-based venue. “If you coulda’ seen all the cheek tearing teeth smiling under the spanish moon late into the morning on New Year’s Day,” he reflected. “Belly laughing and just eye-balling Samantha in her dress.”

Samantha was a vision in a one-of-a-kind couture gown designed by Cavanagh Baker, featuring more than 600 hand-covered lace buttons, a structured bodice that accentuated her collarbones and waist as well as an elegant Cathedral Train. Plus, it had a cherished addition that was a tribute to his late mom, who died in 2016 at the age of 49. Samantha’s dress incorporated a piece of lace from the dress that Annette wore during her wedding.

He pointed out, “We’re a long way from Oklahoma but things resemble home more now than ever.”

Zach said that he’s carried his mother’s memory with him every step of the way, admitting that he thinks “of all the moments you’ve missed often but Sam reminds me that you’re half of me of anyways.”

He previously described his mom as “an Oklahoma sweetheart” and “homecoming queen cheerleader,” highlighting that Annette would’ve loved to have met his partner.

“She is something special and precious. A thing you gotta’ keep once she touches your life. Makes me feel light. Makes me feel like my hearts beating easy and the days aren’t as hard as they once were,” he went on. “Wish you could have seen us smiling like kids when we met on that Spanish beach. She loves a man only a mother could. Maybe you’re in that Spanish moon.”

Zach concluded, “I’ll see you soon enough, til’ then I’ll tell her you love her.”
